Up S**t Creek Without a Paddle

But the good news is if you are over 11 years old and in good physical shape you will be able to paddle down the river

Jun 25, 2014

Note the article below that was sent out from the San Joaquin River Stewardship Program. The bad news is because the Federal and State bureaucracies have mismanaged our water supply the last two years statewide the rest of our current Friant water supply is being sent down the river to meet the demands of the Exchange Contractors who have a higher priority to the water. But the good news is if you are over 11 years old and in good physical shape you will be able to paddle down the river or take lessons for doing stand up paddling. And don’t forget about paddling with the Salmon November trip. It must be something like swimming with the dolphins.

If you are reading this preamble and you are a farmer and wondering what this all means to you then just re-read the Title above.

2014 High Flow Paddling

Don't miss the opportunity to paddle the San Joaquin River during high water flows! The Bureau of Reclamation is currently releasing over 1300 cfs of water into the river. Normal flows for this time of year are approximately 300cfs. Current plans are for the high flows to continue through September. If you have paddled the river during the regular summer low flow regime this will be a new experience for you.
