NRDC Congressman Releases a Statement!

Congressman Huffman contends all this water is the property of environmental and northern California interests. It is not!

Nov 24, 2014

Jared Huffman formerly an NRDC attorney,Swiss Replica Watches and the other former NRDC staffers and/or lawyers now in the legislative or executive branches (e.g., Fecia Marcus, California State Water Control Board Chairperson) certainly deserve an award for the most effective use of propaganda and outright lies to continue the government seizing of even more of the precious Valley surface water supplies.
While singling out only Delta exporters, Mr. Huffman ignores and opposes any effort to help East Side San Joaquin Valley cities and farms that are devastated by the phony San Joaquin River Restoration program.Hublot Replica Watches This program is recognized by every objective observer to be a total waste of hundreds of thousands of acre-feet that could have been used to partially offset the huge overdraft of San Joaquin Valley aquifers. It is also massively underfunded, and clearly will not result in a revived salmon run. In addition, Huffman and the others object to a simple expansion of flood capacity on the Merced River to help Valley folks in the Merced basin.

Huffman contends all this water is the property of environmental and northern California interests. It is not! For too long, this Valley has been treated like a conquered territory with its vital natural resources being appropriated by the ‘holier than thou’ environmental interests to satisfy their elite agenda.
Regrettably, much of the press simply accepts their doctrine without objective analysis.

Even more troubling is the attitude of Senator Boxer who apparently only represents Northern California and environmental interests, and the hell with the rest of the State.
Northern California representatives statement on Feinstein pulling ‘deeply-flawed’ water bill

From the website of Congressman Jared Huffman:

Today, Northern California Representatives Jared Huffman (D-02), George Miller (D-11) Mike Thompson (D-05), Doris Matsui (D-06), Jerry McNerney (D-09), John Garamendi (D-10), and Ami Bera (D-07) released the following statement after Senator Dianne Feinstein announced she will not be pursuing passage of her water bill this year:

We are pleased Senator Feinstein will not be pursuing passage of the water legislation secretly negotiated by her and House Republicans. This legislation would have eviscerated environmental laws protecting fisheries, California watersheds, local water supplies, and tribal and local economies in order to benefit a few powerful Delta water exporters. We applaud the Senator for stepping away from this deeply flawed legislation and realizing that a bill of this magnitude requires public hearings and regular committee process.

“As Members of Congress who represent districts that would be directly affected by this legislation, we have been raising serious objections to both the secretive process and the harmful content of this legislation. We will continue to demand next year that any water legislation responding to California’s severe drought be balanced and take into consideration the array of stakeholders in California.

“We have long supported inclusive, forward-looking responses to the drought and to our state's longer-term water needs, including decisions by federal and state agencies this year to maximize water supply while abiding by environmental laws. We remain eager and willing to work with Senators Feinstein and Boxer, state and federal agencies, and other Members of Congress to advance fair and responsible water legislation.”
