Climate-Change Religion

The greatest challenge facing mankind is the challenge of distinguishing reality from fantasy, truth from propaganda.

Sep 15, 2015

In September, 2003 writer Michael Crichton went to the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco to deliver a speech on what he considered the most important challenge facing mankind, swiss replica watches which he defined as the challenge of distinguishing fantasy from reality, truth from propaganda.

He then went on to explain how environmentalism is one of the most powerful religions in the Western World, where facts cannot be debated with people of faith.  In California Governor Jerry Brown is attempting to attain the role of High Priest of the Environmental Church.  Draconian climate-change legislation is constantly being thrown at us, and trying to debate their religious faith with facts has proven to be pointless.

Michael Crichton's 2003 speech is just as relevant today as it was then, breitling replica watches maybe more so.  Remember, he went into the heart of environmentalism in San Francisco, looked them in the eye and told them they were full of it.  He was right then and he'd be right now if he could say it again.  If you haven't seen this before, you should take the time to do so now.

Michael Crichton Remarks to the Commonwealth Club

September 15, 2003

I have been asked to talk about what I consider the most important challenge facing mankind, and I have a fundamental answer. The greatest challenge facing mankind is the challenge of distinguishing reality from fantasy, truth from propaganda. Perceiving the truth has always been a challenge to mankind, but in the information age (or as I think of it, the disinformation age) it takes on a special urgency and importance.
