Water Saved, Water Wasted!

Since December 20, 2015 over 2 million acre feet of water have flowed to the Delta, through the Delta and out to sea

Feb 02, 2016

In an average year California cities and industries use about 8 million acre feet of water.  One acre foot equals 326,000 gallons, or enough water to cover one acre of land one foot deep.  The people of California have been asked to reduce their water use by an average of 25%, or 2 million acre feet.  Since December 20, 2015 over 2 million acre feet of water have flowed to the Delta, through the Delta and out to sea because of pumping regulations protecting the Delta Smelt.
