Phase 3 (Part 2)
It is time for all Valley citizens and publicly elected officials from our Valley to rise up and fight this.
Nov 11, 2016
We in the San Joaquin Valley are under attack by the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB). The board members are not elected but appointed by the Governor. Governor Brown appointed Felicia Marcus recently of NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) as the Chairman, and three other members of a similar background (radical environmentalism). One member is Dee Dee D’Adamo from the Valley who is the token representative for the broader interests of society as a whole, but she has no influence on the rest of the Board members.
Predictably, the staff is infested with environmental ideologues whose goal is not what is in the public interest, but to enact the goals of the environmental movement regardless of the effect on society and its citizens. The latest action by the Board is a demand that 40 to 60% of the ‘unimpaired’ flow of the Merced, Stanislaus, and Merced Rivers be taken permanently from Valley interests currently using those beneficial flows, and simply let the water flow to the ocean. The scientific basis for this is phony, and is simply a naked power play to put people out of business. The SWRCB also now has its eyes on the Sacramento River as the next victim.
You can review the Merced hearing by clicking on the link below. One of FPV’ s directors speaks at the 2 hr., 18 minute, and 20 second mark. If you wish to endure the presentation by the State Board representative, you can hear that he says he does not consider predation or pollution (such as sewer water discharges from cities) as factors. He only consider flows. Thus, the solution to every problem is more flow from the Valley and its citizens.
It is time for all Valley citizens and publicly elected officials from our Valley to rise up and fight this. If we were a separate country here in the Valley and under attack like this from another country, we would be at war. But, we are being attacked by our own government.
Families Protecting the Valley Board of Directors member Kole Upton speaks at 2HR, 18 Minute, 20 Second mark of this video
