Hearing Trump's Footsteps
They can hear Trump coming and they appear to want to get something done before The Donald takes office.

Some Democrats are thinking now would be a good time to compromise on a water solution for California. They can hear Trump coming and they appear to want to get something done before The Donald takes office and does something they would consider to be even worse. According to Dianne Feinstein, "I think this is the best we can do. If we don’t move now, we run the real risk of legislation that opens up the Endangered Species Act in the future, when Congress will again be under Republican control, this time backed by a Trump administration."
Barbara Boxer remains unswayed saying "I can tell you I will do everything in my power to make sure that it never, ever makes it into law.” The San Francisco Chronicle agrees with Boxer writing this editorial: Stop Feinstein's Water Bill Rider.
Even so, the House has now passed the bill on a 360-61 vote with a lot of Democrat support. It looks like just the thought of Donald Trump getting so close to the White House has scared opposition of California water solutions into action. Maybe it can get even better when he is actually sworn in.
