The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) is coming and if you have any confusion about how this will impact you there's an event this Thursday at the Exeter Memorial Building (324 N. Kaweah Ave, Exeter, CA 93221). The event is being presented by the Tulare County Farm Bureau, the Water, Energy and Technology (WET) Center at Fresno State, and Don Wright of WaterWrights. There is no charge and Gar Tootelian is providing BBQ beef sandwiches, the American Pistachio Growers Association will provide pistachios and we hear someone's mother is baking cookies.
This meeting is about what farmers can do to prepare for SGMA before it’s implemented next year. Are their wells and irrigation systems operating optimally? Is their monitoring and record keeping up to speed? Do they have their legal and real estate ducks in a row? There are experts speaking on these subjects but growers will be encouraged to speak as well.
If you have any questions you can contact Don Wright at 559-355-2389 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or check the link below.
