Arrogance?

And guess who we have to further that ambition?? Yep! The big question in a positive way is, "How do we fix this colossal screw up and monument to stupidity?" Then how do we as taxpayers rein in this current edition of the Brown ambition and stop his lying to us?

Ed Roberts

What a hatchet piece.  If not for visionaries like Pat Brown, nothing would ever get done.  California IS better because of the State Water Project, and I don't blame a dead man because the State has failed to maintain infrastructure.

I know, let's build twin tunnels in an earthquake fault area.  What could possible go wrong?  Look at Oroville Dam.  It survived a 5.8 earthquake when it was filled and nothing went wrong.  It's survived 40 years, it'll survive another 40.  Of course all the people giving these assurances will be long gone.

CA state government is saying "trust us!"

Oh, please!  This state would not be what it is without the state water project that Pat Brown built.  Given the complexity of the system, it has, in reality, performed remarkably well. Are the author's really suggesting we'd be better poof without it? The Oroville dam crisis was caused by water coming down the spillway, not Pat Brown.  Things wear out over time. Even the Bee's editorial board.

The Oroville Dam failure was caused by neglect of our elected officials. What infrastructure project is next to fail because of negligence? Things do wear out over time. That is why we keep them in repair.
