Lake Isabella, deemed the most dangerous dam in the U.S. in 2006, is operated at 2/3 capacity to reduce the risk of dam failure. The Army Corp feels the water level can safely rise to 2,589 feet, and hold back 361,250 acre-feet of water. As of 8:00 this morning, the water level was 2585.41 feet, and the dam is holding back 360,329 acre-feet of water. The Army Corp says dam failure us unlikely.
