Cleaning the Water

Aug 10, 2017

2 tablespoons per 150,000,000 bathtubs filled with water: This is the trace amount threshold of 1-2-3-TCP the State Water Resources Control Board has decided water systems must stay below, to ensure a theoretical cancer risk of less than 1 in 143,000 for those who are exposed to TCP in drinking water over their lifetime. The limit is equal to 0.005 parts per trillion, and is set so low that it is estimated it will cost $500,000,000 to comply with the standard over the next 20 years. Yes, water rates will again rise. Yes, those who can afford to pay will pay extra for those who cannot.
