Out to Sea
Mar 12, 2019
An amount of water equal to a year's supply for 685,788,000 people (six hundred eighty-five million, seven hundred eighty-eight thousand) flowed out to the ocean and became unusable by anyone in just the last 29 months. Water shortages are our fault, not Mother Nature's. With just a few more major surface-water storage projects, we can eliminate much of the need to pump groundwater, restore aquifers, improve drinking water quality, grow more food, forego watering restrictions, lower water rates, improve flows for endangered fish populations, and arrest subsidence. The solution is really quite simple: Just build it!
